Holistic Therapies – in association with the Northwest Regional Drugs Task Force, Breffni Family Resource Centre provides a range of Alternative Therapies to support those suffering Drug and Alcohol Addictions. The object of this programme is to enable people with Substance Mis-use problems to access treatment and also to provide supports for their family members by means of Alternative Therapies and facilitated group work.

We currently offer a range of professionally recognised Therapies including Reflexology, Massage, Reiki, Relaxation and Indian Head Massage. Also, we will soon be offering Auricular Acupuncture, which is believed to be particularly beneficial in terms of alleviating symptoms of addiction including anxiety, sleep problems, depression and cravings.

This service is confidential and free. Please contact Helena for further information on: 071 9622566

Public Playground – A much needed play space is now available adjacent to the Family Resource Centre in Breffni Crescent and is open to all children. This playground was developed with funding made available by Leitrim County Council LED Task Force through the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation.

Community Composting – Our Community Composting facility is the first of its kind in Leitrim and is proving to be very popular. Thanks to the support of Leitrim County Council, we have 3 large secure composting bins within the grounds of Breffni.

Subscribers to the facility are issued with a Composting Bucket into which they put all their compostable waste throughout the week. The Community Composting Bins are then open every Tuesday morning so that householders can deposit their compostable waste. Once nature takes its course, subscribers will be able to avail of rich gardening compost.

For opening times, purchase of composting buckets, list of materials suitable for composting, etc please call into Reception, call 071 9622566 or email us at brefcom@eircom.net
